Hester Steyn started her Nursing Career in 1980 and obtained her qualification as Registered Nurse and midwife. She worked in the following Hospitals: Newcastle Provincial Hospital, Welkom Provincial Hospital, Discovery Memorial Hospital, Krugersdorp Hospital, Milpark and Garden City Hospital in South Africa. She has gained experience within the multi-disciplinary environment and is therefore very diverse with regards to her knowledge and skills. She was promoted to a Senior Professional Nurse in July 1990. Hester worked as the head of Department in the Clinical Education Department at Discovery Memorial Hospital from 1992 until 1997. She obtained her degree Baccalaureus Atrium in Nursing Science with Nursing Education and Health Care Management as major subjects at the University of South Africa in March 2000. She has been the chairperson of several committees relevant to her profession.
Hester joined Sheik Khalifa General Hospital in April 2015 in the capacity as Assistant Director of Nursing and is responsible for all departments within the hospital.
