The Benefits of Agroforestry They can control runoff and soil erosion, thereby reducing losses of water, soil material, organic matter and nutrients. They can maintain soil organic matter and biological activity at levels satisfactory for soil fertility. Landscaping refers to any activity that modifies the visible features of an area of land, including: living elements, such as flora or fauna; or what is commonly called gardening, the art and craft of growing plants with a goal of creating a beauty within the landscape.
